Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI)

Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI)

IDI is a globally recognized tool that helps leaders, teams, and organizations assess their intercultural competence, and get in-depth and actionable information on how they can move forward and develop.

It is widely used to create targeted learning opportunities for leaders, DEI Councils or Working Groups.

Intercultural Development Inventory®

Assessment

IDI provides an accurate profile of mindset toward a wide range of “other culture” groups, including nationality, ethnicity, race, gender, and other diversity categories. It measures how well you are able to perceive cultural differences and adapt your behavior.

The IDI will place you alongside a developmental continuum and describe how you tend to act, your impact on others, and finally how you can move forward and develop. You complete your assessment online in 15–20 minutes.

Intercultural Development Inventory

Coaching

The individual results are always confidential. They are only shared with the person who completed the IDI during a 1-hour coaching session. Each person participating in the session will receive:

  • Individual Report

  • Customized Intercultural Development Plan® to work on

Intercultural competence is a critical piece of the skillset needed to foster an inclusive workplace. This is a unique learning opportunity for organizational leaders, members of DEI Councils, or leaders of Employee Resource Groups.

Working with teams and organizations

IDI can be also used to measure the collective mindset of a group. When working with teams, the combined group results are shared during an interactive 3-hour session exploring the group profile and its impact on the workplace. No individual results are shared.

IDI is also used to conduct a large-scale Baseline Assessment of the organization. This is especially useful when planning for structural changes or designing training.

“Not only we recognized personal growth from Anna’s coaching but, as a team, we became a more aligned leadership team”

In 2020, our team embarked on a journey of inclusive leadership & culture transformation. We engaged Anna to customize an IDI assessment, conduct individual coaching sessions to my leadership team, and facilitate an interactive learning session for the group. Not only we recognized personal growth from Anna’s coaching but, as a team, we became a more aligned leadership team and have implemented a number of practices benefiting our entire organization.”

Thank you Anna for the incredible leadership you have brought in creating and co-facilitating an equity and inclusion Community of Practice for equity and inclusion practitioners.
